The Contenders

Split Personality: After a dispute over the land Abram says to his nephew: “Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee….Is not the whole land before thee” (Genesis 13:8-9). But in the following chapter we see the same self-deprecating Abram, after hearing of his nephew’s kidnapping, do the following valiant acts: “he armed his trained servants…pursued….and smote them” (14:14-15). What changed in Abram or is there? Abram’s attitude in each event is based on one unwavering faith upon an unchanging promise: “…I will bless thee…and thou shalt be a blessing…and curse him that curseth thee” (12:2-3). Beloved,You will face a number of situations today, may your decisions and actions be guided by faith in the Blessed One, who has blessed you with all spiritual blessings in His Blessed Son, Jesus Christ.
